Ahhh, Monday morning… this semester I’m enjoying this day of the week quite a lot – now that I’m over that nasty Physics bump in the road. My day begins between 5 and 5:30am, so I can begin working in morning yoga and beat all the ghastly commuter traffic to this campus. This morning I din’t fit in the yoga, but since I am out of lemons for my am water, I decided to try the peach green tea I just bought and oh it’s sooo good.
I’ll admit I was surprised at how much I like it because it’s Celestial Seasonings, nothing fancy. Correction: it was Bigelow Peach Green Tea. But to find a green tea I really enjoy that won’t break the bank- I’ll take it! :)
I get to school when barely anyone is there and have a good hour to myself before my 9am class begins. It’s on the second floor and something I am particularly taking note of is my recent enthusiasm for geodes, which greet me each Monday and Wednesday when I step off the elevator. It instantly brings a smile to my face and I’m drawn to the case each time to revel in the natural beauty of such gems. Lucky me too that the latest videos from Spirit Science is a four part series on crystals – oh joy!!! :)
It’s a great thing to be in a good mood so early on a Monday, or yes on any day for that matter. I hope it keeps up and your day is bright and happy as well. If not, try meditating on a beautiful stone.
I just checked my email to find this upsetting news. From what I understand according to this article, Google is planning to incorporate Picnik-like services into its other services across the Google empire, specifically Google+ – which I still know nothing about; hubby says it’s popular with photographers. Anyways, that sounds like a whole lot of shit to me. I don’t want to have to go through the Google portal for such services. I don’t care for a lot of what Google puts out. I use their email and docs (although they never print right), but I could care less about Picasa (which I did try), their social network, or many of the other Google products that have come across my screen. This feels to me like the total death of a great service, as opposed to a rebirth in a better way. It sounds like an awful idea even though, yes, I may be a bit panicky at the moment and resisting change because I trust Google about as much as I do any other mega-huge-take-over-the-world corporation. So let me just say… FUCK! SHIT! WHY!!! You bastards, you killed Picnik!!!
Here’s the official word from Picnik (notice how they don’t mention what’s really going on at all, and basically just sink out the back door with their tail between their legs.) Dammit Google, why didn’t you just keep your grimy little hands off if this is how you’re going to go about your business!
Since joining Google in 2010, we have been creating editing magic in Google products while continuing to keep Picnik awesome. But now we get to focus on even awesomer things. Picnik will be closing on April 19, 2012.

It’s been awesome,
Wow. Yes. and Wow, again.
Once more my ever evolving facial recognition skills kicked in and within seconds I knew who I was looking at, despite not being very familiar with him. His name is Rick Genest, and I’ve casually admired him (for reasons you will soon discover) since first catching glimpse of his captivating self maybe three ago. Recently I’ve seen him in a music video (with a pop star if I remember correctly – he was the only interesting thing about it), and some really hot ads. Then there’s this incredible video below. I’m glad to see someone such as he (I’m doing good at keeping the secret right!) getting jobs like these. I like to think he’s as good of a guy as he is good-looking’ and I hope good things continue to come his way.
Oh and I might mention, I use the product in the video and it’s the best!
Here’s a good interview about Rick: http://www.bizarremag.com/weird-news/tattoos-body-art/7173/zombie_boy.html

So here it is, “THE” color of 2012… Tangerine Tango. Apparently they debut the next years color in December, but in recent years I start wondering right about now.
Is it what I was expecting? (I like to play a little guessing game with myself.) No. I’ve actually been resisting orange I’ve noticed and surprisingly been pulled like a moth to a flame to yellow hues, as you will eventually see in my home tour (and my background of course). I’ll have to ponder this electric coral color some more before I draw my final conclusions. I think a plum or indigo is what I was subconsciously imagining for this legendary year. However, I have been seeing some gorgeous things using just this version of orange and I can’t deny it’s allure.
Read about it here: Fashion + Home – Pantone Color of the Year for 2012: Tangerine Tango PANTONE 17-1463.
I found the following description of the meaning of the color orange here:
Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.
To the human eye, orange is a very hot color, so it gives the sensation of heat. Nevertheless, orange is not as aggressive as red. Orange increases oxygen supply to the brain, produces an invigorating effect, and stimulates mental activity. It is highly accepted among young people. As a citrus color, orange is associated with healthy food and stimulates appetite. Orange is the color of fall and harvest. In heraldry, orange is symbolic of strength and endurance.
Orange has very high visibility, so you can use it to catch attention and highlight the most important elements of your design. Orange is very effective for promoting food products and toys.
Red-orange corresponds to desire, sexual passion, pleasure, domination, aggression, and thirst for action.
